The Graduate School of Mahasarakham University has its origins dating back to the year 1979 when it was initially established as part of the Sri Nakharinwirot University, Mahasarakham Campus. Subsequently, in December 1994, Mahasarakham University became an independent institution, separating from Sri Nakharinwirot University, and the Graduate School transitioned its operations into the “Graduate Affairs Division” under the Academic Services Department.
In the year 1997, the Graduate Affairs Division was restructured into the “Office of Graduate Studies” under the supervision of the Assistant to the President for Graduate Affairs. This arrangement continued until July 17, 2003, when Mahasarakham University’s Council approved the establishment of the “Graduate School” as a faculty-level unit, reporting directly to the Dean of the Graduate School. The Graduate School operates with a semi-autonomous management structure and is tasked with the responsibilities of coordinating and supporting graduate education, overseeing and controlling the standards of graduate education, and managing the curriculum of various faculties and programs. Its mission is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of graduate education programs and to provide leadership in the management of graduate education.
